Unfortunately for the Eagles, starting goalie Ian Margol will be unable to finish the season due to an injury sustained during the year.  With his loss though, Emory will bring in goalie Mike Furlong in his place.  The Eagles have high hopes for their last three games of the season.

With a very short bench, the Eagles took on the Seminoles.  Emory took the lead in the first 1-0, but it was short-lived.  FSU took over the second period after the Eagles began to take too many penalties.  Bryan Bartlett scored the lone goal and goalie Ian Margol faced over 100 shots in the loss.

Game 4 & 5 @ Vanderbilt

Game 4 vs Vanderbilt saw the Eagles with a very short bench and without starting goaltender Ian Margol.  In his place, Jon Decker stepped in and put up a great effort but the Eagles fell in a disheartening loss.

Game 5, the next day, was a much better showing for Emory.  With Margol back in net and freshman sensation Brad Pesce and senior Nick Haas joining the team on the ice the Eagles posted one of the best comebacks the ACHA has ever seen.  Falling behind 4-1 in the first period, the eagles turned it on in the second and third.

Heading to the locker room after the second period, Vandy led the tired Eagles 6-3. Coming out strong, the eagles scored quickly and brought the game within 2.  Later in the period, they added another and fought until the very end, even pulling Margol to add an extra skater with just a minute to go.

But to their disappointment, the Eagles couldn't find the net one last time and in the end, lost 6-5. Brad Pesce led the way with 5 points including 3 goals and 2 assists.  Jon Decker and Omar Moid each added a goal as well.

The Eagles got their first win of the season last night, knocking off Mississippi State 7-4.

Nate Causey started off the scoring for Emory on a shot from the blue line early in the first period.  Brad Pesce and Ian Steinberg also contributed goals and as time expired the game was tied 3-3.

In the second period, goalie Ian Margol held the Bulldogs at 3 and Bryan Bartlett and Nick Kim each added a goal for the Eagles.  The teams headed to the locker rooms with Emory on top 5-3.

The Eagles domination continued through the 3rd period as Ian Steinberg scored his second and  third goals of the game for his first hat trick of the season.

The game ended wit the Eagles on top, 7-4.

Lets just say it was a "lack luster" performance by the Eagles...

Game 1 vs GA Tech

Entering its second season in 2010, the Eagles opened strongly against in-state rival Georgia Tech.  The game began with a fluke goal for the Yellow Jackets on a shot that deflected off of 2 players before going in and the first period ended with Emory trailing 2-0.

Early in the second period GT scored a quick goal on a slap shot from up close taking the lead to 3-0.  Looking for any way to spark his team, sophomore goalie Ian Margol made a save and then punched a Yellow Jacket player who hacked at him late.  Margol received a warning but the ensuing scrum was just what the Eagles needed to light the fire.  Freshman Brad Pesce scored Emory's first goal of the season and the period ended with the score 3-1.

The Eagles took over the third period out-shooting GT with Pesce leading the way as the freshman scored his second goal of the game in the middle of the period.  Emory had multiple chances, including several breakaways, to tie the game but could not find the back of the net for a third time.

The game ended 3-2 in favor of the Yellow Jackets.  Margol, who had one of his strongest games ever as an Eagle, saved 62 of the 65 shots he faced, not allowing anything past him after early in the second period.  Nate Causey, Omar Moid, Jon Decker, Eric Stanshine and Bryan Bartlett also played well.
